History

Recorded under its USGS place name near Martindale in western Caldwell County, this is one of the county's historically African American burial grounds. Caldwell County contains numerous such cemeteries dating to the era of slavery and the freedmen communities that formed after emancipation, several of which are catalogued by the Plum Creek Almanac Project's survey of the county's Black cemeteries.
