Constructed of brick with limestone details in the Classical Revival style. The base is created with horizontal brick bands and topped with double height windown bays and pilasters crowned by Corinthean capitals.

History

The Callahan County Courthouse in Baird was completed in 1929, a Classical Revival building designed by Voelcker & Dixon of Wichita Falls and constructed by Suggs and Dunlap. It is the county's fourth courthouse; earlier buildings on the Baird square were designed by noted Texas architects F. E. Ruffini and J. Riely Gordon. The courthouse was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 2003.
