The Castro County Courthouse in Dimmitt was completed in 1939, a Modern Classical building designed by the firm Townes & Funk and financed with Public Works Administration funds and Works Progress Administration labor. It replaced a 1908 courthouse, and a sympathetic addition designed by Lubbock architect Laverne H. Kirby was added in 1971.
