History

Flagg Cemetery serves the small community of Flagg in southwestern Castro County, along Farm Road 1948 on the High Plains. The settlement traces its origins to 1884, when James W. Carter brought his family and established the 7-UP Ranch on Running Water Draw. The cemetery is a modest rural burial ground reflecting the ranching and farming families who settled this corner of the county.
