History

Hurnville Cemetery lies in the small community of Hurnville in north-central Clay County, founded about 1890 and settled largely by German-Russian immigrants who established a German Baptist church there in 1894. The older graves stand on a hilltop near the sites of the vanished church and school west of FM 1197.
