History

Adams Cemetery in northeastern Coleman County was established in 1898, when D.M. Adams deeded 1.26 acres to trustees of the Burkett and Live Oak communities for a burial ground. Reached by dirt roads about a mile southwest of Burkett off State Highway 206, it holds the graves of the Adams, Burton, Ayers, Baker, and other pioneer families dating to the 1800s.
