History

The Houses at 406 and 408 Heard are associated with Stephen Heard, one of McKinney's most successful merchants of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, who was a co-owner of the Heard Bros. General Store and a director of the Collin County National Bank. The pair of homes is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Historic Resources of McKinney multiple property submission.
