History

Garwood Methodist Cemetery, also known as Lehrer Memorial Cemetery, is the Methodist congregation's burial ground serving the Garwood community in southern Colorado County. Garwood developed as a rice-farming town after 1896 and was named for Houston attorney Hiram Morgan Garwood.
