History

Williams Paradise Cemetery near Nada in southern Colorado County originated when Chartie M. Williams petitioned the county commissioners in 1954 to set aside five acres of his land as the 'Chartie Williams Community Cemetery,' which the court accepted that September. A historically African American community cemetery, it holds burials reaching back to the 1930s.
