History

Fitzgerald Cemetery lies in eastern Colorado County off FM 1890, about 100 yards across a ravine from the smaller Grace Cemetery, the two sometimes grouped together as Fitzgerald-Grace. It is named for the Fitzgerald family, including William Alexander Fitzgerald (1786-1859) and his descendants; the cemetery holds several hundred graves, with recorded deaths ranging from 1860 into the late twentieth century.
