History

Boetcher Cemetery, also spelled Boettcher though its tombstones give the family name as Böttger, is a small German family plot about a tenth of a mile west of FM 1890 (Shaws Bend Road) in Colorado County. Its earliest burials include Fritz Böttger, who died in 1870, and Hermann Böttger, who died in 1887. By the 2000s a barbed-wire fence ran through the neglected grounds and only Mary Zickuhr's stone remained readable.
