History

The Holz-Forshage-Krueger Building at 472 West San Antonio Street in New Braunfels was built in 1908 to house the N. Holz and Son Implement Company, whose business had grown from an 1858 blacksmith shop serving the German farming community. The two-story brick commercial building, topped by a distinctive curvilinear parapet, later became an early automobile dealership under Louis Forshage. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997 for its architecture and its association with early automotive commerce.
