History

Graham Chapel Cemetery marks the site of the vanished Graham's Chapel community in eastern Comanche County, about twelve miles east of Comanche and three miles south of Proctor. Settlement began in the late 1870s, and the oldest grave in the cemetery dates to 1882. The community, which took its name from an early church at the site, once had a school that operated into the 1920s; by the 1960s little remained but its two cemeteries.
