History

Baggett Cemetery, also called Baggett Creek Cemetery, sits in eastern Comanche County about seven miles south of Proctor, near the junction of Farm to Market roads 1476 and 591. Its earliest burials reach back to the 1870s, among them Robert Crittenden Clark, who died in 1875, and the cemetery holds well over 200 graves of area families such as the Clarks and Turners. It served the rural farming settlements along Baggett Creek.
