History

Reid Cemetery is a small family burial ground in eastern Comanche County near the old Graham's Chapel and Proctor communities. It holds members of the family of Jesse Whatley Reid and his wife, Jerusha Brown Gilbert, early settlers who came to the Proctor area from DeSoto Parish, Louisiana, about 1876. Their son Hamil Raiford Reid and other kin are also interred here, making the site a record of one of the district's pioneer households.
