History

The Captain R.A. Rawlins House at 2219 Dowling Street in Lancaster is tied to the family that helped found the town: Lancaster was established by A. Bledsoe and his son-in-law Roderick A. Rawlins (1833-1910). Captain R.A. Rawlins was Roderick's youngest son, who married Virginia Bledsoe. The house is one of Lancaster's three National Register-listed properties.
