History

The Barkley-Floyd House at 709 North Dallas Street in Ennis is a Victorian-era residence associated with the H. P. Barkley family and reportedly built in 1882, during Ennis's early growth as a Houston & Texas Central Railroad town. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 under the Historic Resources of Ennis multiple-property nomination and remains one of the well-preserved 19th-century houses in the city's historic core.
