History
The J. M. Alderdice House stands in Waxahachie's historic west-side residential area and was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 as part of the Historic Resources of Waxahachie nomination. It is one of the many turn-of-the-century homes that survive from the era when cotton wealth made Waxahachie one of the most prosperous towns in Texas.
