History
This marker at Hostyn in Fayette County commemorates what is remembered as the oldest Czech settlement in Texas, begun in November and December 1856 when Moravian families including the Janda, Kolibal, Koza, Klimicek and Marak households arrived from Europe. The state placed the marker in 1936.
