History

The Smalley graves lie in a fenced two-acre pasture on Rohde Road about two miles northwest of Warrenton, marked today by only a couple of broken stones and the remains of a wooden rail fence. The burial ground is associated with Benjamin Smalley, said to be the son of William Smalley, who by family tradition was captured by Delaware Indians. Researcher Norman C. Krischke documented the site in October 1965.
