The Sommers Cemetery is a private family burial ground on the former Sommers farm about four and a half miles northwest of Flatonia, off FM 2762. The Sommerses were German immigrants; Dora Sommers, born in Germany in 1851, had lived in Texas some forty years when she died near Flatonia in January 1911 and was buried on the family place. The site sits a few hundred yards from the old farmhouse location in northwestern Fayette County.
