History

The Rotan cemetery, also known as Belvieu Cemetery, lies about two miles east of Rotan on Highway 92 in northwestern Fisher County. Rotan grew as a railroad town after settlers moved into the area in the early 1880s, and the cemetery, with several hundred recorded burials, has served the community through its farming and ranching decades.
