History
Built in 1951 for lumberyard owner Ray Woods and designed by Wylie W. Vale, the B. Ray and Charlotte Woods House in Katy was a mid-century ranch-style home sheathed almost entirely in Tennessee crab-orchard flagstone with wide-eaved, cedar-shake hipped roofs. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004, the house was severely damaged by flooding in August 2017 and demolished in 2020.
