History

The Katy Veterans Memorial Museum, operated by VFW Post 9182, first opened in 1996 and honors veterans from all branches of the U.S. military across conflicts from the American Revolution to the present. Run by volunteers, many of them veterans, it presents maps, photographs, and artifacts, including images of local Katy veterans and items dating to World War I. The museum was damaged in the 2016 Tax Day Flood and again by Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
