History

The Johnny Nelson Katy Heritage Museum is a 9,600-square-foot facility near Katy City Park that officially opened in 2002. Its collection reflects Katy's early days, with vintage farming equipment, relics from the MKT Railroad such as signal lights, and household goods and personal artifacts from the early 1900s, underscoring the town's rice-farming and railroad roots.
