History

The Rosenberg Railroad Museum was established in 1992 by a committee that saw a natural fit for the city, which was platted by the GC&SF Railroad and named for a railroad official. The museum opened in 2002 in a reproduction Santa Fe depot modeled on Rosenberg's original Union Depot. Its exhibit areas include the original Tower 17 switching tower, authorized in 1903, along with a caboose, the Quebec business car, and an outdoor garden railroad.
