History
Julius Edward Junker (1891-1972) was a civic and agricultural leader in Rosenberg and Fort Bend County. A founder of the First National Bank of Rosenberg in 1925, he served as county chairman of New Deal farm programs during the Depression and helped establish the Fort Bend County Fair (1933), the Coastal Plains Soil Conservation District (1943), radio station KFRD (1948), and the county drainage district (1949). A registered Hereford breeder and school board chairman, he was honored with a Texas historical marker in 2009.
