History
This Queen Anne style house with Classical Revival detailing was built in 1896 for Sealy H. Hutchings and his wife Mary Moody Hutchings, on land given to the couple by Sealy's father, banker John Henry Hutchings. It was designed by Galveston architect George B. Stowe, whose firm was active on the island during the 1890s. The residence is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
