History

Burriola Cemetery, also spelled Barriola, is a Mexican-American burial ground located about a mile and a quarter west of Smiley in Gonzales County. It reflects the Hispanic families who lived and worked in this part of the county. The cemetery was surveyed and inventoried in 1993 by local genealogists.
