History

The Smiley Latin American Cemetery is the Mexican-American burial ground of Smiley (formerly Smiley Lake), a Gonzales County community founded in the early 1870s, and lies just east of the town's Baptist cemetery. It reflects the separate cemeteries maintained by Smiley's ethnic communities.
