History

Sample Cemetery, also known as the Union Sample Cemetery, was originally called simply "Union" and lies near Sandies Creek in southeastern Gonzales County, north of the Cuero–Smiley road. Its records were copied by local researchers in 1975. The name change from Union to Sample reflects the family most associated with the burial ground.
