History
This two-story building in downtown Pampa was completed in 1916 as the headquarters of the White Deer Land Company (1886-1957), an English-backed enterprise that grew out of the foreclosed Francklyn Land and Cattle Company and once controlled some 631,000 acres across Gray, Roberts, Carson, and Hutchinson counties. Restored to its early appearance, the building opened in 1970 as the White Deer Land Museum and now anchors a museum complex interpreting the history of Gray County. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
