History
The five-story Schneider Hotel was built in 1926-27 by Alex Schneider, who gambled that Gray County would prosper as an oil and agricultural center. With more than 100 rooms, it was an instant landmark and the social center of Pampa, anchoring the south end of downtown's "Million Dollar Row." Later converted to apartments, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
