History
The White Deer Land Museum in downtown Pampa is housed in the restored 1916 office of the White Deer Land Company, a two-story red brick building. The company (1886-1957) was organized after English bondholders foreclosed on a large ranch and became a major influence in settling Gray, Roberts, Carson, and Hutchinson counties. Opened in 1970, the museum recreates early Panhandle life with exhibits on the Red River War, a Native American artifact collection, period room settings, and the restored company office.
