History

Luella Cemetery serves the small farming community of Luella, about four miles southeast of Sherman in east-central Grayson County. Luella was settled in 1888 when the St. Louis Southwestern Railway reached the area and a post office was established for the railroad's Lynn Station. The community remained a rural farming center until the 1980s, when it began growing as a bedroom community for Sherman.
