History
The Quanah, Acme and Pacific Depot was built in 1909 one block west of Main Street in downtown Quanah to serve as the passenger station and railway offices for the main line of the Quanah, Acme & Pacific Railway. Designed by the Austin firm Page Brothers Architects, it is a handsome example of Spanish Colonial Revival design; the QA&P itself grew out of a short Hardeman County line serving the Acme plaster works and operated until it was merged into Burlington Northern in 1981. The depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and now serves as a railway depot museum under the Hardeman County Historical Society.
