History
The Sterling Myer House stands in Houston's Westmoreland neighborhood, platted in 1902 as the Westmoreland Addition by J. W. Baldwin's South End Land Company. Laid out by St. Louis engineer Julius Pitzman, Westmoreland was Houston's first 'private place' subdivision and drew some of the city's grandest early-twentieth-century homes in Late Victorian and eclectic revival styles. The Myer House is one of the district's residences recognized on the National Register of Historic Places.
