History
The John W. Parker House is located in Houston's Westmoreland neighborhood, platted in 1902 as the Westmoreland Addition by the South End Land Company and designed by St. Louis engineer Julius Pitzman as the city's first exclusive 'private place' subdivision. The neighborhood collected an eclectic mix of Late Victorian and early-twentieth-century houses for prominent Houstonians. The Parker House is among the district's residences recognized on the National Register of Historic Places.
