History

Holocaust Museum Houston was founded by Holocaust survivor Siegi Izakson and opened its doors in March 1996 to educate the public about the dangers of prejudice and hatred. Located at 5401 Caroline Street in Houston's Museum District, it reopened in June 2019 as a 57,000-square-foot, three-story facility following a $34 million expansion. It is the fourth-largest Holocaust museum in the United States, with permanent and changing galleries, a theater, and an outdoor amphitheater.
