History
Hannah Este Burnet, born in Morristown, New Jersey, in 1800, was the wife of David G. Burnet, who served as President ad interim of the Republic of Texas from March to October 1836. She married Burnet in 1830, and of their four children only a son, William Este Burnet, reached adulthood. She died in 1858 and is buried at Baytown overlooking Burnet Bay, where the State of Texas placed a marker in 1936.
