History

Isaac L. Jaques came to Texas from New York in October 1835 and fought at the Battle of San Jacinto in Capt. Thomas H. McIntire's company. He died at Lynchburg on August 6, 1836, and in 1853 his heirs received a donation land certificate for the 640 acres due him for his service. His 1936 marker stands at the San Jacinto Battleground.
