History
Built in 1868 for French immigrant businessman Eugene Pillot, this Eastlake Victorian home originally stood on McKinney Avenue in Houston and was among the first in the city to feature an attached kitchen with running water, closets, and gas lighting. Occupied by the Pillot family until they donated it to The Heritage Society in 1965, it was later moved to Sam Houston Park. A state marker was placed in 1967.
