History

This burial ground is tied to the Church of the Brethren (Dunkard) congregation at Alief, a farming settlement in southwest Harris County that took shape in the 1890s. It is catalogued among Harris County's historic cemeteries and is separate from the larger Alief Cemetery on Bellaire Boulevard. The surrounding community, settled by pioneer farm families, was badly damaged by the Great Storm of 1900.
