History

The Nino Jesus de Praga Cemetery sits on the historic La Noria Cardenena Ranch, established in 1829 by the Cardenas brothers on the San Salvador del Tule land grant. An arch over the gate bears the name Nino Jesus de Praga (Infant Jesus of Prague), and a small chapel stands nearby. Burials reportedly date back to 1835, and the Cardenas and Cavazos families were later united by marriage in 1862.
