History

Mount Sterling Cemetery serves the farming community of Mount Sterling, about six miles northeast of Sulphur Springs, which was settled before 1900 and named for the Sterling family. The cemetery is arranged around a chapel, with an older section on the north side and a newer section on the south. Its graves document the Johnson, Hoover, McDonald, and other founding families of the area.
