History

Hackleman Cemetery is a small family burial ground in the Brinker community of eastern Hopkins County, a settlement founded about 1845 and named for a pioneer family. Brinker grew up around a school built in 1872 and a Baptist church erected in 1880, and by the late 1980s the community still retained a meeting hall, a church, and a cemetery. The Hackleman plot itself is tiny, holding only a handful of marked graves.
