History
This house west of Jasper was the home of Randolph Columbus Doom (born 1811 in Caldwell County, Kentucky), a judge, politician, and participant in the Battle of San Jacinto who reached Texas in May 1836. Doom represented Jasper County in the Eighth Congress of the Republic (1843-1844), served as county chief justice in 1850, and was county judge from 1876 to 1880. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
