History

This is the southern portion of Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, which opened in 1926 on 45 acres along the Neches River and expanded to more than 120 acres after annexing the former Pine Grove Golf Course in 1951. Notable interments in the cemetery include Olympic and golf champion Babe Didrikson Zaharias and rock-and-roll pioneer J.P. 'The Big Bopper' Richardson.
