History

This is the northern portion of Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, a cemetery that opened in 1926 on land stretching along the Neches River and grew to over 120 acres after the adjacent former Pine Grove Golf Course was added in 1951. Among those buried at Forest Lawn are athlete Babe Didrikson Zaharias and singer J.P. 'The Big Bopper' Richardson.
