History

Greenlawn Cemetery on Gill Street in Beaumont, also called Community Cemetery, was formed by combining three older burial grounds — the Simmons, Blacks, and Greenlawn cemeteries — with the Simmons ground being the oldest of the three. It is one of the larger community cemeteries in Jefferson County, with roughly 6,000 interments.
